INTRODUCING, THE PASTORS’ WIVES ARISE NETWORK INTERNATIONAL
As a pastor’s wife, it is easy to get lost in the physical glamour of being known as a first lady, and/or in the difficulties and pressures that come along as a result of high expectations from the people we are called to serve. Having served for 35 years as a pastor’s wife, going from the difficulties of lack, to the pressure bestowed through expectations, and finally to the reality of what service next to a man of God is, it is no surprise that there is a love and concern in me, as it is in many other first ladies, toward those chosen in this same field, to see us grow into powerful, prayerful, achieving, supportive women, wives and mothers to our husbands, children, congregation and the body of Jesus Christ respectively.
Upon the knowledge that many pastors’ wives hurt in silence and have difficulties finding with whom to share their struggles, out of fear of their position, it is only natural that there be a God-Given and ordained group for these first ladies to meet, help, encourage and strengthen one another. The call is great and so is the pressure. So are the expectations. So are the struggles to stay a great example before those we serve, despite our personal hardships and shortcomings. The days are so evil, and pastors’ wives must come to full realization, that success in ministry means God is fully present first in our lives and homes, and that we and our husbands and children are in God’s perfect will, living the Christ like example for the church and community. As pastors’ wives, we should confidently rest in the arms of the one who called us as His handmaidens, and assigned us to this great office of “Caring”; who also has promised never to leave us nor forsake us, and who is able to lead us to our expected end. God says:
“Do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, I will help you, yes, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.” Isaiah 41:10.(MEV)
In the Pastor’s Wives Arise Network International, here you will find, in the leadership positions, mothers in the faith; Pastor’s wives with years of faithful service and experiences in overcoming difficulties, and have risen to become well-balanced women (in their own right), wives and mothers. We in the P.W.A.N international believe in the power of support . We believe that as godly women of influence, the more synchronized we get, with prayer, strategic planning, hard work and expectations, we will break barriers and become stronger pillars as we serve our Lord Jesus Christ.
